Job Description: G.A.P. is looking for a dedicated, experienced and
=
\nenthusiastic media educator to run our Urban Voices programs, which
are a=
\nfter-school for youth ages 13-21. Program responsibilities
include curric=
\nulum development, workshop planning and preparation,
\nco-facilitation of programs using our Core Curriculum (including media
l=
\niteracy and political education), guiding youth through a rigorous
media =
\nproduction cycle, and documentation\/assessment. The full-time
educator is=
\n also required to participate in organizational development
\nand planning, and represent G.A.P. at conferences, screenings,
workshops=
\n and events.<\/p>\n
Qualifications: Media educators must demonstrate a willi=
\nngness and an
ability to engage with G.A.P.'s curriculum and pedagogi=
\ncal approach,
\nwhich connects youth leadership to social justice and to media
analysis =
\nand production. Strong facilitation and co-facilitation
skills are essent=
\nial as is a demonstrated commitment to the
individual, social and intelle=
\nctual development of youth. Media
\neducators must have working experience with digital video production
and=
\n editing and a commitment to the aesthetic quality of their work. <\/p>\n

\neal candidate: The ideal candidate will be passionate about the use
\nof media by youth for creative expression, education, activism and
socia=
\nl change, knowledgeable about local\/global social issues,
experienced in =
\nalternative educational methods, and youth development

\nintergenerational learning and cultural engagement through media is

\nntial. Should be comfortable in a collaborative, creative work

\nt with a diverse staff and youth community. Strong
