JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager, Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival and
\nPublic Programs, American Museum of Natural History<\/p>\n
This position sits within the Public Programs division of the
\nEducation Department<\/p>\n
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time starting ASAP<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
*Organize and manage all festival operations as well as design and
\nimplement public programs year round
\n*Hire, train and manage all seasonal festival staff and interns
\n*Manage contracts, publication production, work with web designer
\n*Work closely with internal divisions of Museum
\n*Develop community-programming partners
\n*Expand national\/international-touring Festival
\n*Participate in festival programming and panel design
\n*Ability to work under pressure
\n*Fundraising track record for media programs
\n*Familiar with cultural \/science programming for adult and family
\naudiences
\n*Ability to work some nights\/ weekends<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
Knowledge and passion for international documentary film, and public
\nevents featuring science and culture
\nExperience with Film Festivals or Public Programs a plus
\nExcellent written and oral communication skills
\nTeam player who can juggle multiple projects and work well under
\ntight deadlines
\nHighly organized and detail-oriented
\nInterested in all aspects of public programming from adult lectures,
\nto family workshops as well as other film screenings throughout the year
\nSome management experience
\nGrant-writing experience<\/p>\n
