Internship in Experience Prototyping @ Intel Labs:
\n<\/strong>Interaction & Experience Research<\/p>\n

Intel recently announced the formation of a new research lab dedicated to exploring and envisioning the future of computing. Under the leadership of Intel Fellow Genevieve Bell, the Interaction & Experience Research Lab will continue to evolve Intel\u2019s long-standing emphasis on the importance of understanding (and designing for) the human experience in technological innovation. Here at Intel, we are tremendously excited about this unique opportunity to lead a major corporate technology research lab from a human-centered perspective. We are looking for a select few, exceptionally talented folks who share that excitement to join our team.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

We are now accepting applications for an interaction\/experience design and prototyping intern who is currently enrolled a bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, or PhD program and matriculating towards a degree. The successful candidate will be joining a world-class team of industry researchers and designers with a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds \u2013 including social scientists, design researchers, interaction designers, human factors engineers, strategic planners, and technology innovators.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are passionate about making ideas tangible, have a strong interaction, design, and prototyping background, get excited about user-centeredness in the design process, have an appreciation for technology and find creative inspiration in the constraints imposed by real-world business demands\u2026. If you possess a specialist\u2019s deep expertise and are willing to expand your current skill set to acquire a generalist\u2019s appreciation of other disciplines\u2026. This is a full-time, paid position, and the length of the internship is 3 months or possibly longer. Compensation is competitive. We are a team that believes we achieve our best results when we work together, so candidates must be willing to relocate to the Santa Clara, California area for the duration of the internship. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participating in collaborative synthesis of research data; translating consumer research into design implications\/requirements<\/div>\n
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Developing\/visualizing product concepts, interaction schemes, and user experiences (and use cases) using wireframes, storyboards, scenarios, etc.<\/div>\n
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Designing\/building conceptual and working experience prototypes (software and hardware)<\/div>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Contributing to the development of user experience strategy, positioning projects within a clearly articulated context of Intel\u2019s business, industry\/ecosystem developments, and emerging consumer behaviors<\/div>\n
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Presenting design concepts to audiences with a wide variety of (mostly technical) backgrounds<\/div>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and\/or relevant job\/internship experiences.<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Current enrollment in bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, or PhD program in design or a related discipline (You must still be enrolled at the end of the internship.)<\/div>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Extensive experience with software prototyping tools (e.g., Silverlight, Flash, Azure, Illustrator, Photo Shop, After Effects)<\/div>\n

Preferred Requirements:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Open source hardware prototyping<\/div>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Highly developed skills in visual design, and be adept at structuring information and interaction schemes<\/div>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience with multi-modal interaction design (speech, haptics, etc.)<\/div>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Interest in \u201cnatural user interfaces\u201d<\/div>\n
