{"id":5689,"date":"2011-03-16T21:44:31","date_gmt":"2011-03-16T17:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=5689"},"modified":"2011-03-16T16:17:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-16T20:17:53","slug":"job-social-media-consultant-haiti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2011\/03\/16\/job-social-media-consultant-haiti\/","title":{"rendered":"JOB: Social Media Consultant: Haiti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reliefweb.int\/rw\/res.nsf\/db900sid\/OCHA-8ETR6X?OpenDocument\">http:\/\/www.reliefweb.int\/rw\/res.nsf\/db900sid\/OCHA-8ETR6X?OpenDocument<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Social Media Consultant L3<\/p>\n<p>United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF)<\/p>\n<p>Humanitarian<\/p>\n<p>Closing date: 17 Mar 2011<\/p>\n<p>Location: Haiti &#8211; Haiti &#8211; Port-au-Prince<\/p>\n<p>Social Media Consultant L3 &#8211; Temporary Assistance &#8211; 3 Months<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the assignment<\/p>\n<p>Under the overall guidance of the Country Representative and the day-to-day supervision of the Manager of Communication, the Social Media Consultant will expand existing and build new social media means for allowing HCO to share information and engage stakeholders in conversations about relief and recovery efforts, and the need to ensure enduring improvements for Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>Objective of the assignment<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Conduct review and report on how social media is used in other non-profit organizations, in particular review what currently exists at UNICEF HQ and elsewhere and what options are available to the CO.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Discussions and interviews as required.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Development of a social media strategy and action plan, including objectives, timeline, budget, outline of proposed roles and responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Presentation of results and proposed plan of action in PPT and Formal Report.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Training in RedDot of staff in operation of unicef.org\/Haiti website (i.e., how to upload information to site).<\/p>\n<p>Deliverables<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Work plan outlining milestones during contract period<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Monthly written reports of progress to date<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Formal report and PPT containing strategy and list of recommended ongoing actions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Formal presentation of proposed strategy and recommended actions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Updated CO website<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Training of Communication staff in social media and, specifically, in RedDot for future uploading and updates of CO website<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and specialized knowledge required<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Web Design: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, XHTML, WordPress<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Graphic Design: Adobe In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Distiller,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Microsoft Office<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Mac and Windows<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Proficient English and French, knowledge of Creole a benefit<\/p>\n<p>Definition of supervision arrangements<\/p>\n<p>The Social Media Consultant will work within the UNICEF Haiti Communication section and work extensively with Communication staff. Day-to-day supervision and guidance will be provided by the Communication Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Description of travel involved<\/p>\n<p>The Consultant will be based in Port-au-Prince, with accommodation provided at the Consultant\u2019s own expense. Regular travel to field locations will not be expected. UNICEF will cover travel costs and DSA per standard rates.
