The Museum is renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a field guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world&#8217;s cultures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<pre><strong>Public Programs Associate<\/strong><\/pre>\n<pre>This Public Programs Associate works with the Public Programs division of the Education Department, and reports to the Associate Director of Public Programs.\u00a0 This position assists with operations and programming of the Margaret Mead Film &amp; Video Festival, while also helping to implement the full calendar of public programs. (S)he also manages 3-5 interns each term and serves as direct Public Programs liaison with the Communications\/Marketing\/Digital Division. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/pre>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist with all film festival operations<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Participate in all festival programming and panel discussion design<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinate development of community-programming partners<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in cultural and science programming for adult and family audiences<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinate program logistics and manage event details<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare contracts and assist with budget tracking<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collaborate with internal Museum divisions on Web, Marketing, and Media Relations efforts<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oversee data collection and analysis from program surveys<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Manage hiring, training, and overseeing interns<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledge and\/or passion for international documentary film and new media<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Knowledge and\/or passion for public events featuring science and culture<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Interested in all aspects of public programming, from adult lectures to family workshops to non-festival film screenings<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At least 2 years experience working with film festivals or public programs and events<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent written and oral communication skills<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Highly organized and detail oriented<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team player who can juggle multiple projects and work well under tight deadlines<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ability to work some nights\/weekends a must<\/pre>\n<pre>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proficiency in using MS Excel, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and FileMaker Pro<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Applicants interested in applying may send their resume, specifying salary history and requirements to:\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:publicprograms@amnh.org\">publicprograms@amnh.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The American Museum of Natural History is an Equal Opportunity\/ Affirmative Action Employer.
