With the VP, UX, the<br \/>\nDirector, UX will define and promulgate industry-leading practices for<br \/>\nall aspects of Method&#39;s UX practice. A Director, UX, will ensure that<br \/>\nthose principles are carried out in Method work, by developing<br \/>\nappropriate work plans during the business development process, by<br \/>\nmodeling those practices in project work, and by overseeing and<br \/>\nmentoring other UX designers, ensuring quality deliverables and helping<br \/>\njunior designers understand and model Method practices.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<p>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Leading initiative=<br \/>\ns for developing and refining UX best practices and processes.<br \/>o&nbsp;&amp;nb=<br \/>\nsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nWorking with the VP, UX and other Method personnel to develop<br \/>\neffective, collaborative processes for delivering strategic and<br \/>\ninnovative solutions to business problems and client needs. <br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During the business development process, working with c=<br \/>\nlient<br \/>\nservices personnel and other discipline leads to create project plans<br \/>\nthat support best practices and deliver against the client&#39;s goals. o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nExecuting, and lead other UX designers in executing, quality<br \/>\ndeliverables for all aspects of UX work, including user research and<br \/>\nanalysis, requirements definition, conceptual design, content planning,<br \/>\ninteraction planning, interaction specification, and quality assurance.<br \/>\nCreating project deliverables that clearly and persuasively communicate<br \/>\nthe UX strategy and the reasoning behind it.<br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mentoring UX designers and Senior UX Designers in devel=<br \/>\noping their<br \/>\nUX skills and, with the VP, UX assisting them in growth along a planned<br \/>\ncareer path.<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Participating in recruiting and screeni=<br \/>\nng potential members of the UX staff.<br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Creating user experiences that can be mapped directly t=<br \/>\no the business and user requirements of the project.<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; =<br \/>\nRepresenting the user experience requirements of the project to other team m=<br \/>\nembers and to the client.<\/p>\n<p>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Working collaboratively with project teams to develop u=<br \/>\nser<br \/>\nexperience approaches that take into account requirements and feedback<br \/>\nof other team members. Also, providing appropriate feedback to team<br \/>\nmembers to ensure that user experience requirements are met.<br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Staying abreast of industry best practices for UX desig=<br \/>\nn and<br \/>\nprocesses, and for any project, gathering sufficient information to<br \/>\nsupport appropriate UX design for the given platform and&nbsp; technology.&amp;=<br \/>\nnbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Skills\/Qualifications include:<\/p>\n<p>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 8+ years experience in UX consulting, spanning mult=<br \/>\niple industry verticals and at least two of the following mediums:<br \/>=95&amp;nb=<br \/>\nsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Large scale consumer or B2B websites<br \/>=95&nbsp;&nbsp;&amp;nbsp=<br \/>\n; Interactive web applications<br \/>=95&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Desktop Software<\/p>\n<p>=95&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mobile<br \/>=95&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 10&#39; UI<br \/>=95&amp;nbs=<br \/>\np;&nbsp;&nbsp; Product interface design<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proven experi=<br \/>\nence leading UX teams<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; An understanding of how to impl=<br \/>\nement design thinking to influence business outcomes.<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nAbilty to plan, carry out, and analyze user research (ethnography,<br \/>\nworkshops, interviews, usability sessions, etc.) effectively to define<br \/>\nuser needs, attitudes, and expectations.<br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; BA or MA in Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, or H=<br \/>\nCI, or related experience<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nEffective communication skills (both in conversation and in writing),<br \/>\nespecially focused on running workshops and presenting and defending UX<br \/>\ndesigns and decisions<br \/>\no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to work with technology experts to uncover and =<br \/>\nunderstand<br \/>\ntechnology requirements and capabilities as they relate to user<br \/>\nexperience.<br \/>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fluency with standard UX design tools, s=<br \/>\nuch as Adobe CS3, Visio, OmniGraffle, Office, etc.<\/p>\n<p>THE (NOT-SO) FINE PRINT <br \/>Method is a multi-disciplinary studio<br \/>\nwith offices in New York and San Francisco.
