Please see and share our job description below\r\n- thanks!\r\n---------\r\nDigital Strategy Intern at Firedoglake.com\r\n\r\nFiredoglake is a leading news coverage and activism hub of the\r\nprogressive left. We are seeking driven, energetic interns looking to\r\ngain experience in the rough-and-tumble world of American political\r\nblogging and advocacy.\r\n\r\nLocation: Brooklyn, NY (Gowanus \/ Park Slope, Union St. stop off the R\r\ntrain)\r\n\r\nHours &amp; Duration: 15-20\/hrs per week. This internship is unpaid but\r\ncan be eligible for school credit.\r\n\r\nAbout the position:\r\nAs part of the Firedoglake team, interns will have a unique\r\nopportunity to work inside a independent media and activism\r\norganization. Committed candidates seeking experience in online\r\npolitical advocacy and independent media are required for this\r\nposition.\r\n\r\nDuties\r\nInterns will wear many hats within Firedoglake, but will generally\r\nhave a hand in statistical reporting and analysis to improve our\r\noverall effectiveness and efficiency, finding creative ways to promote\r\nour brand \/ stories \/ activism over social media, creating and\r\ncustomizing the necessary tools for our readers and activists, and\r\ncommunicating and interacting with our supporters.\r\n\r\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\r\n\r\nProficiency in Excel or Google Docs\r\nWillingness to play with numbers and data\r\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\r\nA strong belief in community activism and engagement\r\nA strong work ethic\r\nWillingness to commit a minimum of 3 months\r\nConfidence to work independently and under tight deadlines\r\nExperience with and a footprint in social media, such as Facebook,\r\nYouTube, Twitter, Reddit, etc.\r\nYour own laptop\r\n\r\nDesired Skills and Qualifications\r\nWe're most interested in your drive and commitment.
