This position provides assistance to the Communications Coordinator and Systems Administrator for OISS projects and issues related to technology, print\/electronic design (including HTML emails, web design, posters, postcards, etc.) and web development. The time commitment is 20 hours per week during the 2011-2012 academic year with potential to extend to next academic year. The work is full time (40 hours\/week) during the summer, starting mid-late July 2011. Hours worked would need to be within regular office hours (Monday \u2013 Friday from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 5:00 p.m.). Availability to work during university breaks is preferred. Salary is $18\/hour. You must be a full-time student at NYU to be considered for this position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Responsibilities include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-update information and create designs for website, office intranet, and print publications<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-brainstorm for effective strategies and follow-up in the creation of outreach, marketing, and programming tools using web technologies (e.g. blogs, Facebook, etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-provide troubleshooting and resolution for open support calls<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-assist with technology projects related to hardware\/software deployment and database development<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Qualifications\/Experience\/Skills needed:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-basic computer troubleshooting and good problem-solving skills<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-experience with desktop and web publishing applications such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-experience and knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-highly organized with the ability to work on many projects at the same time<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-sound judgment regarding what is appropriate for office communications<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-ability to work independently and seek guidance appropriately<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Qualifications\/Experience\/Skills preferred:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-previous experience working in a higher education setting<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">-experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">To apply send a cover letter, resume, and samples of your work to Melissa Zuroff, International Student Advisor\/Communications Coordinator at\u00a0<a title=\"blocked::mailto:melissa.zuroff@nyu.edu\" href=\"mailto:melissa.zuroff@nyu.edu\">melissa.zuroff@nyu.edu<\/a>.
