DIGITAL INTERNSHIP AT THE NYC MAYOR\u2019S OFFICE OF MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT (MOME)<\/strong><\/div>\n
The Mayor\u2019s Office of Media and Entertainment is a single entity consisting of the Office of Film,<\/em><\/div>\n
Theatre and Broadcasting (OFTB); NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York; and<\/em><\/div>\n
the Office of Digital Coordination. MOME aims to develop the City\u2019s diverse media functions,<\/em><\/div>\n
encourage local economic activity in the entertainment industry as well as spur the development<\/em><\/div>\n
of new media. The mission of MOME is to enhance government communications by making<\/em><\/div>\n
information more accessible to the public and to leverage technology to aid in transparency.<\/em><\/div>\n
The Office of Digital Coordination is seeking an intern skilled in social media tools and strategy to<\/em><\/div>\n
assist the Office of Digital Coordination. This individual should have excellent communication<\/em><\/div>\n
skills, professional experience in digital media, and mastery of prominent digital media platforms<\/em><\/div>\n
and tracking applications. The intern will play an important role in supporting New York City\u2019s<\/em><\/div>\n
digital media presence by contributing to social media channels and facilitating coordination with<\/em><\/div>\n
City agencies.<\/em><\/div>\n

\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Help execute central social media channels<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Support coordination of social media managers at City agencies<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Perform analysis related to NYC government digital media activity<\/div>\n

\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
Qualifications:<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Professional experience in digital media and mastery of prominent digital media platforms<\/div>\n
and tracking applications<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Experience in digital strategy and social media and\/or online community management<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Maturity and attention to detail<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Entrepreneurial, self-starter mentality<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Fluency in digital media, including blogging platforms, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Quora,<\/div>\n
Flickr<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Mastery of MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Familiarity with mobile technology and devices such as iPhone, Android, iPad, netbooks,<\/div>\n
etc.<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Current on technology and digital media developments via blogs and Twitter<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Familiarity with social media and web analytics tools like Google Analytics and Chartbeat<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Early adopter of new apps, platforms, devices, etc.<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Light HTML familiarity and graphic design a plus<\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/strong>Experience in web project management or launching a startup a plus<\/div>\n

COMMITMENT:<\/strong><\/div>\n
Interns must be able to work 2-3 days per week from 9am to 5pm for a minimum of 3 months to a<\/div>\n
maximum of 5 months.<\/div>\n

COMPENSATION:<\/strong><\/div>\n
Internships are unpaid. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university and be able<\/div>\n
to show proof of residence in NYC during the period of the internship.<\/div>\n
