I'm hoping I can ask a favor of you: I need crew! And I know you know c=
\nrew here in NYC. Creative Time has a major show loading into the Park Avenue=
\n Armory the week of 9\/15 and I need to supplement the crew we already have. =
\nIf you could please pass this along to anyone you know that might qualify, i=
\nt would mean a lot.<\/p>\n
I need lighting, A\/V and artwork install crews as well as teams to take car=
\ngo vans and box trucks around to studio spaces for artwork pickups for the f=
\nollowing dates:<\/p>\n
9\/17 =96 1pm =96 9pm (maybe 11pm)
\n9\/18 =96 Daytime hours
\n9\/19 =96 Daytime hours
\n9\/20 =96 8pm =96 8am next day<\/p>\n
There may be some work the 15th and 16th as well.
\nStrike is 9\/27 overnight and 9\/28.
\nI think I'm good for running crew during the week, but if there's s=
\nomeone comfortable with light, AV and art handling I might be able to make a=
\n technical site management position available (PT or FT) 9\/21-9\/27.<\/p>\n
Pay rate is $20\/hour, $30\/hour for the late-night shifts.<\/p>\n
Its a great group of people already on board =96 we just need more! And the=
\n program is freakin' amazing (I've attached a press release) – more =
\nfestival than exhibition, its the culmination of a nationwide series of work=
\ns we've been working on all year (I'm just back from producing perfo=
\nrmances for the occasion of the DNC and RNC, actually!) – static works by ov=
\ner 40 artists and ton of performance over the week.<\/p>\n
If you can, please have any solid crew you might know contact me – email or=
\n phone. Its short notice and I need to find people FAST! Here are some very =
\nbasic descriptions of the different crews, in case useful. And please ask me=
\n any questions you might have. Thanks!<\/p>\n
LIGHTING
\nTo run cable, hang and focus fixtures. Reasonable experience in theater or =
\nevent production lighting, though the equipment we're using is pretty ba=
\nsic.<\/p>\n
A\/V
\nTo set up projectors, fast fold screens, monitor and flatscreen displays as=
\n well as audio. Theatrical, event or gallery experience wiring and focusing =
\nAV setups a must, though again these are pretty basic installs. <\/p>\n
INSTALLERS
\nTo hang framed works, move and place sculptural works, assemble display ele=
\nments, etc. The works are all artworks, but someone with carpentry and\/or pr=
\noduction experience for theater would do fine.<\/p>\n
HANDLERS
\nTo drive trucks\/vans to artist studios, load artworks (some heavy sculpture=
\ns) and deliver to site. Basically the same profile as the install crew.<\/p>\n
