\nTenlegs.com is an exciting new startup that provides an easy, fun-to-use place for folks to display and sell their digital creations, and see and purchase other folks\u2019 work as well. We have just launched a beta site, and are looking to expand. Our team is made up of highly motivated, energetic and passionate specialists with tons of experience in marketing, strategy, entertainment and internet\/web technology. \nResponsibilities
\n\u25cf You will work on adding exciting new features to our website, involving multimedia (photos, videos, music). Our rapid and iterative development cycle will require you to explore and learn new technologies, solutions and services in the social media space, while giving you the flexibility and opportunity to question the status quo and innovate the website through your creativity and ideas.
\n\u25cf Your projects will include improvements to existing features (built on a Linux- Apache-Mysql-PHP (LAMP) MVC architecture, as well as the addition of completely new capabilities in the web 2.0, social networking and secure payment area, and involving cloud computing (Amazon S3\/EC2\/RDS and others).
\n\u25cf You will also be expected to constantly improve the core architecture to support our growth plans. This will require you to identify opportunities for tuning the existing code, as well as revise the architecture as required to ensure future development will be built in a secure and scalable manner.
\nExperience
\n\u25cf Prior development experience building large-scale high-traffic and secure consumer websites, in the social media \/ social networking \/ Web 2.0 space, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
\n\u25cf Extensive experience programming on the LAMP stack . Strong in PHP, MySQL, Javascript frameworks such as JQuery, and AJAX
\n\u25cf Experience integrating and working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, RDS, Cloudfront) and other cloud-based services
\n\u25cf Experience creating custom integrations with multiple open source and commercial social \/ web 2.0 technologies (WordPress, Forums, Wikis, Facebook connect)
\n\u25cf Optimizing for the Mobile web (Android, iPhone, iPad etc) is a plus
\n\u25cf Experience with Agile development and source control systems such as SVN or GIT
\n\u25cf Comfortable working in a team environment, including with offshore team members
\nSkills
\n\u25cf Languages: PHP5, Javascript, CSS, DHTML, Flash, HTML5
\n\u25cf Database: Mysql – developing database schemas for high performance, administration of the database to support multiple node deployments for scalability)
\n\u25cf Cloud: Integration with Amazon S3, EC2, RDS, Cloudfront, Encoding.com

\nEducation
\nBS\/MS Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent

\n\u25cf Expert in user-centered design methods and best practices, including building complex transactional applications and social networking features
\n\u25cf Proficiency generating interactive prototypes using basic HTML, CSS, and\/or Javascript
\n\u25cf 3-4 years experience designing interactive user interfaces \u25cf Creative and technology background preferred \u25cf Positive, can-do attitude, great team player
