So are we. Our vision is of a documentary that\u2019s beyond (but including) a feature-length film, where the process of creating complimentary instantiations of the story (targeted at tablets, print, vinyl, web, etc.) are seen as integral to the whole work \u2013 and referenced across manifestations. We have a collection of media artifacts (mentioned in the article link above), and are in the process of creating more (through animation, visualization, re-enactments, etc.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>To do this, we need an interaction designer<\/strong> to help frame the storyworld we\u2019re building. Collaborating with editorial, art, music and video directors \u2013 you\u2019ll creatively approach the narrative with innovative ways to craft a compelling and\u00a0<em>connected<\/em> set of experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we\u2019re looking for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good interaction fundamentals: you should know what a conceptual model, wireframe, and scenario are and how to use them appropriately<\/li>\n<li>Proven visual design sensibility<\/li>\n<li>Experience with user centered design methods &amp; user research<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge (or an interest in researching) the strengths and weaknesses of native apps vs. web apps<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge (or an interest in researching) the potential of ePub 3.0 when combined with HTML5<\/li>\n<li>A strong ability to prototype (lo-fi and\/or hi-fi) whether with paper, Google SketchUp, HTML, Flash, Keynote, or something else\/combination thereof<\/li>\n<li>Fluent English, good communication skills, and a desire to work in teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Notice how we didn\u2019t say \u201ctransmedia\u201d once \u2013 oops, ok \u2013 the \u201ct-word\u201d \u2013 right, well \u2013 we\u2019d like it to really\u00a0<em>mean<\/em> something \u2013 beyond ARGs [no disrespect to ARGs, ok?]. Can you help?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is not <\/strong>a full-time position, but rather \u2013 a cross-platform documentary project that we\u2019ve developed around our day-jobs.\u00a0\u00a0The compensation is modest, but the execution of the vision behind this doc will no doubt be an excellent portfolio item.
