How Big Can You Think?
\nAre you fanatical about great user experience? Yahoo! Inc. is looking for a User Experience Design Manager to lead the design team for the Autos property. In this role you will collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, business development resources and engineers to drive the design strategy for our Yahoo! Autos property. This is one of the most successful properties in Yahoo’s Media Division with a fully staffed design team. Autos is currently working on redesigning our core platforms as well as developing new products for our customers.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities and Expectations for Design Manager
\n–\tManage a team of highly motivated, effective designers and mentor them about design principles, standards, and best practices
\n–\tAssist in prioritizing design deliverables across multiple projects; manage project schedule and resource planning and allocation
\n–\tProvide a clear and cohesive design vision with effective communication of that vision to the design team
\n–\tConduct critiques and provide direction to design team on their work
\n–\tWork closely with product management, business development, advertising, design and engineering leads to execute the design strategy
\n–\tAdvocate for the user to ensure the highest quality user experience
\n–\tDetermine and manage user research plan
\n–\tIncorporate user research and usability findings into the product roadmap<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n–\tPassionate about design, possessing excellent core design skills; able to produce storyboards, mood boards, wireframes, scenarios, and design prototypes to help define customer-centric design strategy
\n–\tMust possess excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills
\n–\t5-7+ years in design for web-based products\/services
\n–\t1-2+ years as a people manager
\n–\tStrong understanding of online advertising platforms and advertising-driven, web-based businesses
\n–\tHigh tolerance for office tomfoolery<\/p>\n
