\nociety and Council of the=A0<\/span>Americas=A0<\/span>(AS\/COA) se=
\nek a qualified, self-motivated individual for a paid, web-development intern=
\nship in its policy program. The intern will have the unique opportunity to c=
\node and build a new website for the AS\/COA policy journal,=A0<\/span>Americas=
\n Quarterly<\/font><\/i><\/em>. Once online, the position will entail updating t=
\nhe new website, adding additional components and establishing new web-based =
\nrelationships with other Latin American think tanks and policy journals. The=
\n intern will be expected to bring creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to t=
\nhe position.<\/span><\/font><\/div>\n
\nareas of focus during the internship will be:<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/div>\n
\nelop and update a new interactive website at:=A0<\/span>www.americasquarterly.org:<\/span>Design web user interfaces, from wireframes to HTML mock=
\nups<\/span><\/font>Perform usability testing<\/span><\/font>=
\nWrite clean HTML\/CSS\/JavaScript code that =
\nintegrates with a PHP back-end<\/span><\/font>Outre=
\nach to other online publications<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
\ncandidates will have proficiency in the following programs:<\/span><\/font><\/strong><\/div>\n
\nServer-side, database-driven application design and development, =
\nusing PHP (or similar) and SQL<\/span><\/font>Solid=
\n grounding in software design principles and methodologies<\/span>=
\n<\/font>Versed in user interface design, information architec=
\nture, and usability issues<\/span><\/font>Web user =
\ninterface implementation using cross-browser-compatible HTML and CSS<\/span><\/font>Familiarity with UNIX (any flavor) preferre=
\nd<\/span><\/font>JavaScript a plus<\/font>Knowledge of Spanish and\/or Portuguese a plus.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
