Director of Digital Learning<\/p>\n
The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) is internationally recognized as a leading science and technology
\ncenter with a reputation for excellence in visitor experience and innovative hands-on exhibitions and
\nprograms. Annually, NYSCI serves an audience of 500,000 visitors that reflect the immense diversity
\nof the greater New York metropolitan region. NYSCI is an innovation laboratory that is committed to
\npromoting new approaches to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.<\/p>\n
NYSCI is seeking an individual to lead NYSCI\u2019s expanding strategy for leveraging digital technologies
\nfor a wide range of audiences. In this role, the candidate will need to be well versed in current and
\nemerging digital technologies; will be able to weave uses of these technologies in teaching and learning
\nexperiences; and have the skills to manage current programs and grow digital learning initiatives at
\nNYSCI. Working closely with senior leadership at NYSCI, the position will be encouraged to develop
\nnew funding sources in conjunction with potential funders.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n1. Leading NYSCI\u2019s strategic growth in the integration of digital learning technologies across
\nprograms
\n2. Working collaboratively with NYSCI staff and outside partners to create and implement large and
\nsmall-scale projects for schools and families
\n3. Managing project team to accomplish goals
\n4. Managing staff to maintain and upgrade educational technologies
\n5. Collaborating with IT staff in the implementation of major infrastructure upgrade
\n6. Other tasks as requested by Senior Vice President for Education and Public Programs<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n1. Minimum \u2013 Masters degree in a science, technology, engineering, math, or
\neducation field.
\n2. An experienced practitioner in education-related digital technologies
\n3. At least 5 years experience managing complex projects
\n4. Experience in leading grant-funded projects and strategizing new funding sources
\n5. Familiarity with constructivist learning theories and evidence of applying ideas to
\nprojects
\n6. An effective collaborator, coordinator, team builder, and mentor and who is skilled
\nat leveraging the talents of others and solving problems.
\n7. Excellent communication and writing skills<\/p>\n
