Sustainability \u2013 Program Assistant, Web Development<\/p>\n
Title:<\/p>\n
Position Summary
\nThe Program Assistant will assist NYU Sustainability staff to:<\/p>\n
(1) develop, design and implement projects such as new web pages, forms, tools, videos, & maps for
\nthe Sustainability Advocate Program, Green Grants, Bike Share and other programs<\/p>\n
(2) maintain the NYU Sustainability website, www.nyu.edu\/sustainability<\/p>\n
(3) support related information technology projects, such as the php\/MYSQL database of website
\nfunctions, contacts, and environmental assessment data ; and the web-based energy feedback \/
\nbehavior change tool for the NYUnplugged residence hall conservation competition.<\/p>\n
Principal Duties
\n– Web Development: Code microsites for new initiatives , ongoing site maintenance
\n– Strategic Planning: Assist with conceptual site development; evaluation of usability, traffic and
\nother metrics; support plans for new Sustainability Website 2.0 as part of nyu.edu redesign<\/p>\n
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
\n– Intermediate- advanced web design and data management skills, Proficiency in HTML, CSS,
\nphp\/ MYSQL, Google API, content\/media management systems, etc. (some learning on the job
\nexpected)
\n– Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; attention to detail<\/p>\n
Desired Skills and Qualifications
\n– Additional technological proficiencies, incl. other software platforms (SPSS? ArcGIS? Flash? etc.),
\nprogramming languages, etc.
\n– Creativity, self-directedness and critical problem-solving abilities<\/p>\n
Pay:
\n$15\/hour<\/p>\n
Location:
\n10 Astor Pl, 7th Floor, in the Office of Sustainability; some work hours possible off-site once established<\/p>\n
Time commitment:
\n10-15 hours\/week school year,
\nmore hours ideal in summer<\/p>\n
