\nEnvironmental Designer<\/span><\/p>\n
\nStory seeks an experienced senior Designer or Design Director to expand
\nthe studio=92s interactive experience design capabilities beyond the
\nscreen. The Designer will collaborate with studio Producers,
\nInteraction Designers and other creatives to craft concepts for
\nstory-driven interpretive visitor experiences and exhibitions that
\nblend media, interactivity, technology with the physical world. As a
\nkey member of the interdisciplinary Experience Design team, the
\nDesigner=92s capabilities with industrial design will define a media
\ninstallation=92s physical properties; their experience with Exhibition
\nand Environmental Design will define how media installations are
\nintegrated into environments; and their architectural literacy will
\nbridge these environments with buildings and the landscape. The
\nDesigner is a visionary thinker, an innovator, and a natural leader
\nwith a proven understanding of various physical design disciplines and
\nstorytelling techniques.

The 3D, Exhibit & Environmental Designer will:
\n
Extend the experiences Second Story creates outside the electro=
\nnic realm; give form to interactive experiences
\nTranslate messaging, storytelling, and experiential goals into
\nphysical controls, fixtures, exhibits and environments that balance
\nstrategic, functional, and budgetary requirements
\nThink holistically about environments that incorporate
\ndynamic, responsive, and interactive media with environmental graphics,
\nexhibits and objects
\nBalance accessibility, durability, usability and a\/v engineering o=
\nbjectives, with inspiring aesthetic originality
\nAct as a bridge between external exhibition designers or
\narchitects and internal user experience design team: help shape the
\nteam=92s creative approach to site-specific installations
\nArticulate physical design ideas at every stage of the
\ncreative process from rough hand drawings capturing conceptual
\napproaches through compelling 3D visualizations to comprehensive
\ndrawing sets for fabricators
\nProduce effective documentation deliverables for every stage of th=
\ne creative process
\nCultivate relationships with fabricators, integrators, and
\nother outside contractors that produce the physical designs; oversee
\nthe construction process to ensure the outcome meets the design
\nintention
\nBe a knowledge source for Producers and creatives on best practice=
\ns, innovative trends, materials, and fabrication technologies<\/p>\n
\ninteractive media experiences with an award-winning team. The position
\nis located in Portland, Oregon, with a very competitive, comprehensive
