\nThis is a followup to the iTV talk that the 2 alums from NBC gave a
\nfew weeks ago. They are hiring some paid interns for the spring
\nsemester for anyone interested…<\/p>\n
> Interactive TV\/Mobile Product Development Interns (2 different
\n> positions)
\n> The NBC Interactive TV\/Mobile team is looking for a Development
\n> Intern and a Operations intern for the Spring semester.
\n>
\n> Candidates will have the unique opportunity to learn firsthand about
\n> how interactivity is incorporated into broadcast\/cable environments,
\n> as well as have exposure to interactivity on cable\/satellite\/iptv
\n> settop boxes,
\n> synchronous web, DVR, and other emergent iTV platforms.
\n> Opportunities to work with the mobile team are available as well,
\n> working with SMS, MMS, WAP, Mobile Downloadable Applications, and
\n> mobile videos.
\n>
\n> All Candidates must posses the following:
\n> * Be a self-starter who can complete a project with minimal direction
\n> * Excellent Organizational skills
\n> * Strong oral communication and presentation skills
\n> * Work well in a team environment
\n>
\n> Development Intern
\n> The Development Intern will work with iTV Technologists and
\n> Operators in building out new technologies, as well as writing
\n> scripts to enhance and test current systems. Intern will be tasked
\n> with completing a main project for the semester, but will also be
\n> involved in all projects within the group. Knowledge of
\n> programming and comfort with technology is required, although
\n> position is not limited to coding. Experience with Flash, PHP,
\n> Perl, and\/or Java a plus.
\n>
\n> Operations Intern
\n> The Operations Intern will work with iTV Technologists and
\n> Operators in testing current iTV technologies in place and work to
\n> ensure the quality of new releases and will also assist in
\n> preparing for iTV events. This is a unique opportunity for those
\n> who may not have the requisite programming experience for the
\n> Development Intern position who are still interested in learning
\n> more about the technologies involved in Interactive TV.
