\n>> The Banff New Media Institute’s Advanced Research Technology
\n>> Collaboration and Visualization Lab is accepting applications for
\n>> a Post-Graduate Research Associate to work on the ESPACER
\n>> (Emerging Social Places and Collaborative Environments Research)
\n>> initiative. The goal of ESPACER is the development, dissemination
\n>> and evaluation of collaborative technologies that promote human
\n>> interfacing and community awareness in the everyday lived spaces
\n>> where we work, play and learn. We employ hybrid research practices
\n>> that integrate methods from creative, critical and technical
\n>> disciplines. Technologies and methods explored in the Advanced
\n>> Research Technology Collaboration and Visualization Lab include
\n>> large-scale participatory wireless networks, tangible and organic
\n>> interfaces and virtual and augmented environments. Our research
\n>> platforms include personal area network technologies, physical
\n>> computing, mega-pixel and stereographic displays, multi-touch
\n>> surfaces and mobile devices.

\n>> RESPONSIBILITIES
\n>> The Post-Graduate Research Associate will work on collaborative
\n>> research projects with Banff New Media Institute researchers; work
\n>> studies; and visiting researchers. This includes providing
\n>> technical, conceptual, and methodological support to researchers
\n>> and projects within the lab. Research Associates will also have
\n>> the opportunity to initiate collaborative projects that align with
\n>> the ESPACER initiative.

\n>> QUALIFICATIONS
\n>> Top candidates will be able to demonstrate through their portfolio
\n>> of projects; technologies; and\/or published papers proficiency
\n>> across technologies and creative design methods used in human
\n>> centered computing and digital media. They will also demonstrate
\n>> the ability and willingness to learn new technologies and creative
\n>> methods as required for creative research inquiry. Candidates must
\n>> have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent
\n>> organizational abilities, excellent time management skills
\n>> including the ability to multi-task multiple projects.
\n>>
\n>> Education
\n>> Completion of Ph.D. or ABD (all but dissertation) status; or
\n>> completion of a Masters terminal degree in relevant fields
\n>> including: Fine Arts, Computational Media; Interaction or
\n>> Industrial Design; Computer Science; Electrical and Computing
\n>> Engineer; Communications; or other appropriate graduate degree
\n>> programs. Exceptional applicants with a completed undergraduate
\n>> degree will also be considered.
