DIGITAL INTERNSHIP AT THE NYC MAYOR\u2019S OFFICE OF MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT (MOME)<\/p>\n
The Mayor\u2019s Office of Media and Entertainment is a single entity consisting of the Office of Film,
\nTheatre and Broadcasting (OFTB); NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York; and the
\nOffice of Digital Coordination. MOME aims to develop the City\u2019s diverse media functions, encourage
\nlocal economic activity in the entertainment industry as well as spur the development of new media.
\nThe mission of MOME is to enhance government communications by making information more
\naccessible to the public and to leverage technology to aid in transparency.<\/p>\n
The Office of Digital Coordination is seeking an intern skilled in social media tools and strategy to
\nassist the Office of Digital Coordination. This individual should have excellent communication skills,
\nprofessional experience in digital media, and mastery of prominent digital media platforms and
\ntracking applications. The intern will play an important role in supporting New York City\u2019s digital
\nmedia presence by contributing to social media channels and facilitating coordination with City
\nagencies.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Help execute central social media channels
\n\u2022 Support coordination of social media managers at City agencies
\n\u2022 Perform analysis related to NYC government digital media activity<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n\u2022 Professional experience in digital media and mastery of prominent digital media platforms and
\ntracking applications
\n\u2022 Experience in digital strategy and social media and\/or online community management
\n\u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
\n\u2022 Maturity and attention to detail
\n\u2022 Entrepreneurial, self-starter mentality
\n\u2022 Fluency in digital media, including blogging platforms, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Quora,
\nFlickr
\n\u2022 Mastery of MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
\n\u2022 Familiarity with mobile technology and devices such as iPhone, Android, iPad, netbooks, etc.
\n\u2022 Current on technology and digital media developments via blogs and Twitter
\n\u2022 Familiarity with social media and web analytics tools like Google Analytics and Chartbeat
\n\u2022 Early adopter of new apps, platforms, devices, etc.
\n\u2022 Light HTML familiarity and graphic design a plus
\n\u2022 Experience in web project management or launching a startup a plus<\/p>\n
COMMITMENT:
\nInterns must be able to work 2-3 days per week from 9am to 5pm for a minimum of 3 months to a
\nmaximum of 5 months.<\/p>\n
COMPENSATION:
\nInternships are unpaid. Applicants must be currently enrolled in college or university.<\/p>\n
