Director of Interactive Media and Technology Design<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ESI Design \u2013 one of the world\u2019s leading experience design firms is seeking a Director of Interactive Media and Technology Design to work as part of a cross-disciplinary team developing environments for cultural, institutional, corporate and retail clients all with a focus on visitor interaction and experience design.\u00a0 The position will involve managing the interactive media and technology design department and leading the digital design from concept through completion on multiple projects.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The current department houses 8+<\/a> full time staff and a number of freelance production artists, programmers, and designers.\u00a0 This position requires the oversight of both design and production of traditional media, interactive software and technology development projects.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a deep understanding of industry developments in leading edge digital media and interactive technology, and possesses the ability to translate that knowledge into innovative and pragmatic designs.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Responsible for:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 Overseeing schedule and workflow for the interactive media and technology design department, its staff, and third party design\/production resources.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitoring the design work within the interactive media and technology design department to assure consistency and quality<\/p>\n

\u2022 Creating overall digital strategy and approach to interactive technology development for the firm<\/p>\n

\u2022 Working with the internal multi-disciplinary design team including physical designers, A\/V designers, graphic designers, technical systems designers, copywriters\u00a0 programmers and developers<\/p>\n

\u2022 Building and maintaining collaborative teams in and across departments<\/p>\n

\u2022 Presenting ideas and designs verbally and visually; both internally and directly to clients<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mentoring staff to evolve their skills sets and keeping staff up to date on emerging digital technologies and techniques<\/p>\n

\u2022 Participating in business development and marketing efforts from prospective client pitches to developing thought leadership in the marketplace<\/p>\n

\u2022 Identifying needed skills sets, and attracting talent<\/p>\n

\u2022 This job does require some travel- both USA and internationally.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2022 At least 10+ years experience working in the field of digital media design and production<\/p>\n

\u2022 At least 5+ years experience working in a managerial role. Extensive knowledge of interviewing, hiring, and managing the performance of a design team<\/p>\n

\u2022 Exceptional leadership, presentation and communication skills<\/p>\n

\u2022 Creative, conceptual thinker who can lead design projects from brainstorming\/concept phase through production<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrated mastery of creative, interaction and experience design that integrate technology.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven ability to plan and execute both traditional media production projects, advanced web development, and software applications.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understanding of physical and pervasive computer technologies and development of alternative interface designs<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrated understanding of H\/C interaction, learning theory, and media\/communications design<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience in large scale project planning, management and production<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understanding of integration of technology into a physical environment a plus<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to recommend and incorporate emerging technology into experience design concepts<\/p>\n

\u2022 Command of industry standard IA documentation, experience in user interface and experience design documentation<\/p>\n
