Job Title: Multimedia Producer
\nLocation: New York, New York<\/p>\n
Role Summary\/Purpose
\nThe Multimedia Producer will be responsible for conceiving, creating, producing and managing great visual content for NBC\u2019s Local Integrated Media team in New York.<\/p>\n
Essential Responsibilities:
\nResponsibilities include creating and managing interactive visual content, including Flash graphics, across all Local Media websites as overseen by the Executive Multimedia Editor. <\/p>\n
The person selected for this position must have the ability to create, produce and publish compelling visual presentations that will attract, engage and help grow our audience. <\/p>\n
The role combines strategic thinking with day-to-day execution and editorial and project-management responsibilities across a broad organization; it will require working with numerous peers within NBC\u2019s \u201cLocal Integrated Media\u201d (LIM) team, local NBC television stations and external content partners. <\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n\u00b7 Imagine, create and publish compelling interactive content to our Local Media sites.
\n\u00b7 Support production of local content in special-event and breaking-news situations.
\n\u00b7 Assist in evaluating and improving current technical, content and newsroom workflows.
\n\u00b7 Maintain relationships with both internal and external content providers.
\n\u00b7 Monitor, report and respond to audience metrics.
\n\u00b7 Develop and maintain a strong working connection with all Local Media websites, to ensure communication, coordination and accountability for cross-site initiatives.<\/p>\n
Basic Qualifications:
\n\u00b7 Two to four years experience working as a visual content producer or editor.
\n\u00b7 Flash animation skills including knowledge of object-oriented Action-script programming.
\n\u00b7 Ability to implement XML in creating dynamic Flash presentations.
\n\u00b7 Knowledge of audience engagement and an understanding of website metrics.
\n\u00b7 Experience with news operations, particularly video, Flash and photo publishing.
\n\u00b7 Experience with content management and web-publishing tools.
\n\u00b7 Outstanding interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills.
\n\u00b7 Strong knowledge of emerging tools and trends in producing and delivering graphics and multimedia packages and an alertness to marketing and promotional trends.
\n\u00b7 Ability to perform in fast-paced environments, to shift priorities quickly among multiple projects and to do what is necessary to \u201cget it done\u201d on short notice.
\n\u00b7 Knowledge of the following specialized production software tools or their equivalent:<\/p>\n
o Photoshop
\no Final Cut Pro
\no Soundslides
\no Flash \/ ActionScript
\no Basic HTML \/ XML
\no Web Metrics<\/p>\n
Desired Qualifications:
\n\u00b7 Working experience in a newsroom within a media company.
\n\u00b7 Degree in journalism, media, communications, design, English or equivalent experience.
\n\u00b7 Demonstrated ability to create original, interactive content that serves a targeted audience generates increased traffic and sales.<\/p>\n
