\nGenres School of Art, Media, and Technology Parsons The New School for
\nDesign 1. Position Description The School of Art, Media, and
\nTechnology at Parsons The New School for Design seeks an exceptional
\nartist working in New Genres (time-based media) for a full-time,
\nrenewable term faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor
\nstarting July 1, 2009. Successful applicants must hold terminal
\ndegrees in their respective fields and\/or equivalent professional
\nstanding, and must demonstrate a strong record of excellence in
\nteaching and scholarship\/creative work. This position is dependent on
\nbudget approval from the Office of the Provost.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications: Requirements SAMT’s Fine Arts program seeks an
\naccomplished, versatile artist with relevant teaching experience, and
\nexpertise in contemporary approaches, concepts, techniques, and
\ncritical issues as they pertain to the range of practices that are
\nassociated with video, performance, digital media and various
\nintermedia combinations of art forms. Because teaching will include
\nundergraduate studio courses, candidates must demonstrate proficiency
\nin the technical as well as theoretical and historical aspects of
\ntheir field(s). Demonstrable skills and techniques will be thoroughly
\nintegrated into the conceptual frameworks of professional practice.

\nResponsibilities — Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses and
\nmentor students within the context of an interdisciplinary art
\nprogram. — Maintain an active professional practice nationally and
\ninternationally. — Participate in the development of the program and
