Creative Technology Educators with Interest in Leadership – IMMEDIATE OPENING<\/p>\n
The Quad Manhattan, (an educational center for gifted children with special needs), is searching for (2) instructors to join our group of educators and mentors to work within our TECH! programs.\u00a0 Our strength-based philosophy pairs children with mentors and educators in their fields of passion, building on their successes to overcome challenges.\u00a0 Classes currently offered include game design, physical computing, basic robotics and digital sound.\u00a0 The positions are part-time, on a path with growth to leadership.\u00a0 These positions are IDEAL for ITP alumni, as our hands-on approach to Technology is inspired by the ITP framework and curricula.\u00a0 We feel that our unique approach can give these exceptional young individuals early exposure to the skills they might later use to become pioneers in the fields of engineering, programming, and interactive design.<\/p>\n
Candidates MUST:
\n1.\u00a0 Have strong physical computing \/ programming skills, as our children are QUITE advanced in these areas
\n2.\u00a0 Have significant experience as an educator; young students with special needs experience a plus
\n3.\u00a0 Be able to work with a (non-technical) co-teacher, who will facilitate classroom management and socialization goals, and with TECH interns.
\n4.\u00a0 Possess the personal qualities of patience, flexibility, dependability, and empathy for our children
\n5.\u00a0 Be able to independently create organized and appropriate curricula under the supervision of our Educational Director
\n6.\u00a0 Be creative in helping to grow The Quad’s mission via hands-on Technology Programming
\n7.\u00a0 Be skilled at communicating with, and supporting, the parents of our children
\n8.\u00a0 MUST be able to work from 2:30-6 weekdays (and possibly some Saturdays)<\/p>\n
