Reporting to the Vice President, Exhibit & Program Development, the Director
\nof Exhibition & Curatorial is responsible for all aspects of an innovative
\nexhibition and curatorial team that develops exhibition solutions, design
\nsupport and curatorial care for museum needs. These needs include all in-house
\ngraphic design, exhibit development, design and implementation, as well as
\ncollections care and interpretation. The Director of Exhibition & Curatorial
\nis to oversee and manage a staff that includes exhibit designers, graphic
\ndesigners, exhibit developers, curatorial staff and technical designers as
\nwell as a large number of outside vendors, consultants and sub-contracts. A
\nkey function of this position is to direct large exhibit projects from
\ndevelopment through to fabrication.<\/p>\n
We seek an accomplished individual with a track record of demonstrated
\nexecution of creativity, interpretation and associated project development
\nprocesses. The successful candidate will bring a passion for science,
\ntechnology and innovation, as well as an appreciation for and\/or experience
\nwith the work of a museum coupled with a business-like and strategic approach.
\nThis position requires an undergraduate degree in design or a related field
\nand a minimum of 8 years experience in professional exhibit design management
\nresponsibility, preferably in such venues as science centers, themed
\nentertainment venues, children’s museums, zoological parks, or other
\nvisitor-driven, public cultural institutions. Proven skill in managing
\ncreative teams and large projects including interface with construction and
\noperations is highly desirable.<\/p>\n
