\n>> Program Management Intern: We are also looking for an intern to
\n>> support our Program Director in managing the Program Department.
\n>> The position will provide opportunities to gain experience in NGO
\n>> management, as well as incorporate elements of the Regional
\n>> Support intern role in terms of preparing for trainings,
\n>> developing training materials and supporting on research and
\n>> administration.

\n>> Video Advocacy Institute Intern: Within the program department,
\n>> WITNESS will also be looking for an intern to support preparation
\n>> for our Video Advocacy Institute (VAI). In 2007, WITNESS hosted
\n>> the inaugural VAI. The VAI is an intensive two-week course that
\n>> trains 30 human rights defenders from 24 different countries to
\n>> successfully integrate video advocacy into their campaigns. The
\n>> VAI Intern will work with the VAI Coordinator to prepare for the
\n>> 2009 VAI. This will include:
\n>> Assistance the Coordinator throughout the application process with
\n>> the administrative responsibilities
\n>> Assisting with the visa process for the participants
\n>> Supporting all logistical preparations for 2-week long training
\n>> Assisting the Coordinator to develop and design pre-institute

\n>> with particular regional concentration). Candidates should have:

\n>> Relevant regional experience, either academic or practical
\n>> Previous NGO experience (experience abroad is a plus)
\n>> Strong language skills relevant to the region (especially Arabic,
\n>> Bahasa Indonesia, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish, as well as
\n>> French and Karen) are key to most program internships. Native
\n>> speakers are generally preferred, but not required.
