Online Organizing interns
support outreach staff with the online out=
\nreach connecting WITNESS's work to other organizations and specific audi=
\nences to raise WITNESS' online presence on social networking sites and o=
\nther online properties. There is a great deal of collaborative work with oth=
\ner departments within WITNESS. You will have the opportunity to build expert=
\nise in cutting edge online organizing strategies and tactics.<\/p>\n

Duties include:<\/p>\n

Use online tools like Facebook, MySpace, You Tub=
\ne, Flickr, and blogs to
promote and publicize priority WITNESS campaigns.=<\/p>\n

Recruit and engage online and on-the-ground activists in key regions=
\n.<\/p>\n

Design web graphics, html templates, update web pages, and distribute v=
\nideo.<\/p>\n

All interns are expected to spend between 20-30% of their time =
\nengaged in administrative support to outreach staff and other staff as neede=
\nd.<\/p>\n

Potential interns are preferably graduate students or others with relev=
\nant experience. Undergraduates with relevant study experience will be consid=
\nered. We look for a focus in studies on communications, human rights, intern=
\national relations, political science, and interdisciplinary studies. Because=
\n this internship is so focused in online work knowledge of HTML, basic Photo=
\nshop, and a basic knowledge video editing software is also required.<\/p>\n

Candidates should have:<\/p>\n

A passion and strong knowledge of creati=
\nng\/updating profiles and content on social networking sites including blogs,=
\n facebook, myspace, Flickr, YouTube and other online properties.<\/p>\n

HTML, Photoshop and Dreamweaver.<\/p>\n

Excellent written and verbal commun=
\nications skills<\/p>\n

Strong online research skills<\/p>\n

Competency with =
\nexcel and web metrics.<\/p>\n

Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced envir=
\nonment<\/p>\n

Intellectual curiosity and creativity<\/p>\n

Analytical and problem sol=
\nving skills<\/p>\n

Independent and self-motivated<\/p>\n

A sense of adventur=

This is an opportunity to bring your online skills to a dynamic and=
