The ideal candidate should have a passion for maximizing<br \/>\navailable resources within a non-profit organization to develop engaging user<br \/>\nexperiences online.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>The Online Technical Intern should be passionate about latest practices in web<br \/>\ndevelopment, with a knack for discovering and implementing existing libraries and<br \/>\nsoftware to enhance Asia Society\u2019s unique and diverse online needs. Candidates should<br \/>\nbe prepared to configure our Drupal-managed CMS, including installing and testing<br \/>\nmodules, configuring Views, managing user permissions and template editing. The<br \/>\nTechnical Intern will also be called for front-end web development and should follow<br \/>\nbest practices in web development. There may be some data entry and QA involved.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for someone who can not only execute basic web development tasks but<br \/>\nalso provide input to enhance the organization\u2019s online strategy. Therefore, the candidate<br \/>\nshould be aware of all things web, and interested in seeking out technical solutions to<br \/>\nAsia Society\u2019s many online needs.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements:<br \/>\nCandidates should have, at a minimum, a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and<br \/>\nJavaScript (jQuery). The Technical Intern must have experience working with Drupal<br \/>\n(experience with Views required and Panels a plus) as well as be comfortable with<br \/>\nversion control using SVN. Working knowledge of PHP a plus. Candidates must<br \/>\nadhere to best practices in web development.<\/p>\n<p>Schedule:<br \/>\nThe Online Technical Intern is expected to work at least 20 hours per week, for a<br \/>\nminimum of nine to 12 weeks, at Asia Society headquarters on Park Avenue. Specific<br \/>\nschedules can be designed to meet the individual needs of the intern. Please indicate the<br \/>\ndays and hours you are available to work in your application. The Online Reporting<br \/>\nIntern is unpaid.
