Jose Olivares

José A. Olivares is a graduate of the Audiovisual Communications program from the University of Puerto Rico. A long-time member of the Puerto Rican underground music scene, Olivares is a founding member of the electro-acoustic pop outfit Balún, and also participates in other a/v projects such as ambient trio Arturo en el Barco with his wife, composer Angélica Negrón. He has worked on the recording of the musical scores for documentaries and movies. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Professional Studies from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he is specializing in interactive design, motion graphics and interactive sound.
