Petra Farinha

ITP Alumni, Class of 2009

Petra is a portuguese interaction designer and digital artist based in New York.
She graduated from the M.A.Digital Arts program in the Catholic University of Oporto, Sound and Image department in 2001 and she taught multimedia and interaction design/art courses at ESAD, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal for several years. At the same time she was working as a freelancer designer.
In 2006 she decided to move to New York and now she is studying at ITP, Interactive Telecommunications Program, Tisch School of Arts where she has been developing projects that aims to encourage social interactions in public/urban spaces. While at ITP she started to get very interested in sustainability issues and in physical computing in general.
