Chris Anthony

Chris Anthony is a medical doctor and current resident physician in orthopedic surgery at the University of Iowa. His research areas of interest include the use of messaging "bots" to communicate with patients, use of intraoperative video to assess surgical technique, computer assisted surgery, and use of large healthcare databases to identify new and interesting research questions. His primary focus is in understanding the validity of automated communication in healthcare settings and in what contexts and to what extent we are comfortable trusting our healthcare conversations to software. He has published in multiple peer reviewed journals and had his research presented in over 30 venues nationally and internationally. In a former life he played professional football and attended NYU ITP.
