Thanks especially to the tangible tactics group, a loose collection of faculty and staff from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ryerson.ca\/rta\/About\/\">Ryerson University School of Media<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocadu.ca\/academics\/undergraduate-studies\/digital-futures\">OCAD University Digital Futures<\/a>&nbsp;program,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/academics.sheridancollege.ca\/programs\/bachelor-of-interaction-design\">Sheridan College Interaction design<\/a>&nbsp;program,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/\">NYU ITP\/IMA<\/a>, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Video_Tools\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#video-tools\"><\/a>Video Tools<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>How to share your circuits live via Video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Webcams\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#webcams\"><\/a>Webcams<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kinoni.com\/\">epocCam<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; an app for iOS and Android that converts your mobile phone into a wireless camera for your computer. You run an app on your phone and on your personal computer, and your phone shows up as just another camera available to any Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, etc. Steve Daniels recommends you buy the app. It spares you a ton of ads AND give better reolsution \/ connection control. We have used these on the floor at ITP. They are good for circuit sharing in a studio or classroom setup. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadianclassroom.com\/\">Canadianclassroom.com <\/a>appears to have them in stock.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Text_Tools\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#text-tools\"><\/a>Text Tools<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/codeshare.io\/\">codeshare.io<\/a>&nbsp;A shared code editing site. It&#8217;s very barebones, but it&#8217;s fast and easy to get set up and edit together in real time.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/glitch.com\/\">glitch.com<\/a> makes it easy to share live code in HTML\/JS\/CSS and node.js projects, including p5.js<\/li><li>Microsoft&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/code.visualstudio.com\/\">Visual Studio Code<\/a>&nbsp;is a decent text editor that is optimized for screen readers. If you have the Arduino IDE installed on your machine, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.visualstudio.com\/items?itemName=vsciot-vscode.vscode-arduino\">Arduino Plugin for VS Code<\/a>&nbsp;makes a good screen reader-friendly editor. The Arduino plugin gives you access to most of the tools in the Arduino IDE: boards manager, library manager, examples, compile and upload, and serial monitor. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.visualstudio.com\/items?itemName=MS-vsliveshare.vsliveshare\">VS Live Share Plugin<\/a>&nbsp;allows you to share code live with other users over a network in real time as well. Setup time for a group is not fast, though, and requires a login.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/\">github<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; Github is the most common code management platform used at ITP. It&#8217;s very useful for managing code and circuit drawing versioning among a group. You&#8217;re probably using it right now, if you&#8217;re reading this.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/teddavis.org\/p5live\/\">p5live<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; allows you to share p5.js sketches and code in realtime.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Drawing_Tools\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#drawing-tools\"><\/a>Drawing Tools<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When drawing circuits, using common [electronic schematic symbols] and sharing your drawings in editable formats like SVG (scalable vector graphics) makes it easier to share materials. Many beginners find schematics abstract at first, so breadboard-friendly drawing programs are handy as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mural.co\/\">mural.co<\/a>\u00a0A shared drawing board. There are many others available, but this one is particularly useful because it supports SVG import, meaning you can import parts that you export from other circuit drawing programs like Fritzing or Eagle. It also has a library of standard electrical schematic symbols, making it easy to share circuit drawing exercises in real time.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/fritzing.org\/\">Fritzing<\/a>\u00a0is a circuit and schematic drawing program designed for electronics beginners. It supports drawing in breadboard view, schematic view, or printed circuit board (PCB) view. It can export many different image formats, and can be extended by making your own parts files. Many suppliers of hobbyist elextrinics parts make their parts available as Fritzing files, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sparkfun\/Fritzing_Parts\">Sparkfun<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/adafruit\/Fritzing-Library\">Adafruit<\/a>, and others. Though it&#8217;s no longer free, it&#8217;s still\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/fritzing\/fritzing-app\">open source<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/fritzing\/fritzing-app\/releases\/tag\/CD-498\">latest releases<\/a> are in the gitHub repository, and the work is self-financed by the maintainer, so the price is a good deal.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tinkercad.com\/learn\/circuits\">Tinkercad<\/a>\u00a0is another berginner-friendly circuit drawing environment. It&#8217;s not apparent how to import parts into it, however.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/inkscape.org\/\">Inkscape<\/a>\u00a0is a free and open source vector drawing tool.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/affinity.serif.com\/en-us\/designer\/\">Affinity Designer<\/a>\u00a0is a vector drawing tool similar to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/illustrator.html\">Adobe Illustrator<\/a>, but less expensive with most of the same features.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sketch.com\/\">Sketch<\/a>\u00a0is another popular vector drawing tool among graphic designers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Connected_tools\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#connected-tools\"><\/a>Connected tools<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.generaltools.com\/ts04-digitalmultimeter\">TS04 Multimeter<\/a>&nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/General-Tools-TS04-Multimeter-Auto-Ranging\/dp\/B01FHQ3V8O\">Amazon Canada link<\/a>, thanks Steve Daniels) is a multimeter that connects to an Android\/iOS app that works through a screen reader. It is possible to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tigoe\/TS04-Bluetooth-Meter\">write your own HTML interface<\/a>&nbsp;for the TS04 meter as well, using the web-bluetooth JavaScript framework. Here are some&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tigoe.com\/pcomp\/code\/javascript\/1309\/\">details on the TS04 protocol<\/a>. You can connect to the connect to the TS04 meter from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/htmlpreview.github.io\/?https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/tigoe\/TS04-Bluetooth-Meter\/master\/index.html\">this link<\/a>&nbsp;if you have one. This only works on the Chrome browser, as of this writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Keyboard_Control\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Resources#keyboard-control\"><\/a>Keyboard Control<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ITPNYU\/physcomp\/tree\/master\/Labs\/LabKeyboardZoom\/KeyboardPushbuttonZoomControl\">Arduino sketch to control Zoom<\/a>&nbsp;via a USB-native Arduino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Parts\"><\/span>Parts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re trying to shop for parts in multiple regions of the world, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.octopart.com\">Octopart<\/a> is useful.
