Having an address is how we exist on society,
how we become citizens, where we can be located, where we receive our mail, where our family and friends can contact us.

A house is where we validate this existence,
a shelter that gives us protection, our intimate space.

Are DIY communities able to make something for someone else?

Inhabitable collapsible structure made of cardboard becomes a shelter able to provide an address to a defined group of unsheltered homeless persons, by means of radio devices, proposing a way to integrate them to society.
How to make visible this layer of the population by using technology?

Snails and turtles don't need of an external construction, they live portable.

Their shell is their shelter.

What is reality? Time?
Networks and location seem to be the structure of the Universe we live in today.
Ubiquitous computing-pervasive computing-calm technology-things that think-everyware-pervasive Internet…
Definitions that try to explain the integration of computing into everyday life, making it invisible to the users.
The promise of an intelligent future does not involve this layer of the population.
The most unprotected layer of the population, Unsheltered homeless, are the ones that don\'t assist to organizations and live in places not meant for human living, such as abandoned buildings and sidewalks.
Most of them, mentally ill people that don’t receive proper alimentation or medical assistance.

Everyone, overall DIY community, on line community.

Dignity.

1 shelters is made of cardboard, 1 xbee, 1 9v batt (transmmitter). The receiver: 1 xbee, arduino, relays, mp3 palyer, 9v batt, headphones. Whenever you get close (30 mts) to a shelter, you will be able to read the name, age and place of origin of the person inside.

I want to believe we, as a society, can use technology in a empathic way and make visible each one of us.
Magic is possible and today we have all the tools to make it happen.
