Sustainable ITP

Sustainable ITP is an initiative to reveal and promote sustainable practices at ITP.

The Sustainable ITP project helps identify student and faculty work that participates in the program's sustainable practices initiative. This includes projects that use renewable energy, green materials or promote environmental awareness. Our Spring Show location will explain the identification project, and provide other information on sustainability at ITP.

We will create a map of the sustainable projects in the show to give out to visitors (but encourage them to return the paper when done), and will have photos of ITP sustainability initiatives and ideas that are not featured in the show. For example, the coffee and cup projects, Bike Juice, recycling and parts swaps, energy audit, energy data viz, solar panel initiatives, etc. We will have interviewed all of the students who have worked on these projects and we\'ll be prepared to talk to show visitors about each of them.

One of the first steps in promoting sustainable practices is simply informing people what is possible. The project was developed to promote increased awareness among ITP students and encourage them to do things like use alternative power and recycled and nontoxic materials.
