360 Degree Outfit Imaging and Sharing System

Jaymes Dec

An imaging system for clothing shoppers that photographs outfits in 360 degrees and immediately uploads them to the web for sharing.

Classes Thesis

When clothing shoppers seek outside opinions on outfits, they can only show their outfit to people who are present in the store. I propose to create a system that allows shoppers to photograph themselves in 360 degrees and upload the image to the web as something like a QuickTimeVR file. They could use these images to allow their friends and family to assist in choosing their clothing purchases in real time.

Background

Preliminary research has only dug up one instance of an application that I am proposing. In Touch Weekly reports,

"Victoria Beckham has designed a $500,000 closet for her new L.A. home. It supposedly features a leather floor, Baccarat crystal chandelier, $80,000 Andy Warhol shoe print, a computer that tracks when she wears items of clothing and a camera to give her a 360-degree "cat scan" of her outfit before she steps out."

Why should only Victoria Beckham have this technology? I think I can do this for less than $2000. And make it a facebook app.
