Remarkable is an interactive table designed for an airport waiting area or lounge. Users can leave a digital “mark” on the waiting-area table, in the form of a silhouette of a physical object placed on its surface. Once it is recorded by the table, the silhouette imprint becomes a part of the visualization displayed on the table’s surface. The purpose of the table is to collect, store, and display incidental information about travelers passing through the lounge and to transform this space that can often be stressful and boring into a site of positive social encounter and exchange.
