Fostr.org fills a crucial gap in New York City’s animal adoption ecosytem, providing a temporary home for animals while they wait for adoption or a space in a shelter. Too often, shelters run out of space for homeless animals and have no choice but to turn them away. In too many cases, this leads to euthanasia.

By creating an online tool that encourages education and recruitment, Fostr.org fills an essential space for people who cannot adopt but still want the joy of having an animal in their lives. Designed first for New York City residents, fostr.org will grow to partner with organizations in cities across the US.
