A digital music workstation, that allows users to make music and share the project with other musicians.

http://www.nicolacarpeggiani.com/?p=546

Description

Web Jam Session is a webpage that allows the user to create musical sequences and melodies, with the built-in sequencer and keyboard. The difference between this project and others music production softwares is that the user can share the project with another musician, to create a “shared”musical piece.
The webpage has two main instruments, one step sequencer, that allows the user to write musical sequences with mouse and a synthesizer.
The synthesizer is a Tone.js Polysynth that allows to play 4 keys simultaneously; the user can create melodies using the keyboard as a piano keyboard.

A new musical instrument that plays along with you.

http://gemuse.org

Description

The Gaussophone is a new musical instrument played with the fingers of the left hand and a magnet held in the right (or, I suppose, vice-versa for left-handed players). At the same time, it is a computer-generated musical piece that allows the user to play along with it and solo over it, while selecting its next key changes based on what the user plays. At the moment, the computer's contribution begins randomly/probabilistically, and mostly supplies a backing track – the next step will be to have the program wholly base its music on what the user plays, beginning in silence and dynamically adapting to the tempo and pitch of the user's playing.

Other changes that will (definitely) occur before the Spring show are the prettying up of the instrument – replacing breadboard with perfboard, covering magnetic sensors with wood veneer, covering touch strip with thin rice paper.

An online 360-audio experience, where the user is invited to hear the anxious thoughts inside the artist's brain and turn them off.

http://anxietybrain.net/

Description

‘Anxiety.’ is a 360 web musical experience. The user is invited into the brain of an anxious artist, to hear the inner-most thoughts, represented as a 6-part harmony placed in a 360 space. Navigating the 3D space, the user can turn the thoughts on and off. Each thought is sung and accompanied by ambient sounds — heartbeat and percussion sounds.
