YORB Gallery Opening

What’s this?

To kick off the festival, join us at the YORB Gallery Opening to celebrate our students and their incredible work from this semester! View students’ projects from the Project Directory and mingle with guests and ITP/IMA/Low Res community members a novel online way. Be sure to catch a ride on the lazy river around the exhibit!

YORB is an interactive and multiuser 3D-space that you can visit from your web browser (Chrome recommended). The YORB Gallery will be open throughout the festival (and beyond) as an experimental and playful archive of student work and social space. You are invited to visit and explore on your own time and at your own pace, as well.

What's YORB?

Developed by a group of ITP graduates, residents, and current students, YORB is inspired by ITP’s interactive television series from the 1990s, also called YORB, and the quarantine conditions of Spring 2020. YORB 2020 was built as an online space to socialize and experiment and was modeled after ITP/IMA’s physical location on the 4th floor of NYU’s 370 Jay Street building in Brooklyn, NY. YORB 2021 includes new spaces for creative expression and virtual gatherings.

For a list of presenting students and their projects, please check the list of Projects.

How to attend

Meet our students in SpatialChat here:
