Visualizing the air pollutants we encounter everyday onto a wearable that can be observed by oneself and others, so that the wearable serves as an indicator. We are currently focusing on carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a major atmospheric pollutant in urban areas, generated chiefly from the exhaust of internal combustion engines.

Using biometric sensors we will quantify the amount of carbon monoxide in the air and visualize the readings using muscle wire on thermochromatic fabric.

The visitor will see a change in the garment's composition based on the elements being fed into the carbon monoxide sensor.

User Scenario
Using sensors to detect air quality, a wearable will react by revealing an warning sign to inform others around them. The wearer essentially becomes a mobile sign.

Implementation
CO2 sensor, thermochromatic fabric, micro-controller and nitinol wire (heating element)
