GridMusic Mk. 2

Patrick Proctor

GridMusic uses human movement through space to create one hour audio "portraits" of the dynamics of a given public space.

GridMusic uses camera tracking synced with PD to generate sine waves at varying intervals based on human movement in public space. The movement within the space is measured on a binary grid, and the sine waves react to the amount of time a given node of the grid has been "active". The result are one hour "portraits" intended to contrast both the differences in movement through space over time, and the differences between spaces.
