Description

The inner workings of the United States Congress is complex and overwhelming, and is often obscured by politicking, filibustering, and gerrymandering. In order to better understand it all, I decided to find out more about the actual people who run the country.

Using publicly available data, The Lives of Congress is an exploration of the publicly accessible, but almost invisible, lives of politicians. What does their real estate look like? What sectors of the economy to they have financial investments in? What are the most popular topics in the legislation the sponsor? By presenting this information through a series of web-based interactive infographics, perhaps I can help others to empathize with our elected officials too.
