Eight out of the nine patterns represent eight different types of defense mechanisms, while the one in the middle represents reality. Users are immersed in a dynamic process of changing masks that are generated based on certain algorithm behind the eight types of defense mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>Defense mechanism is a coping technique that reduces anxiety arising from unacceptable or potentially harmful impulses.
