Description

The Neo Couture was born out of love for conceptual fashion design and the designers behind the creations. I am a fashion designer, a professor and soon an itp graduate. I wanted to design a tool that would benefit my fellow designers but also to encourage my students to consider tech in their practice. Designers often associate technology with the less than optimal changes our industry has gone through. I wanted to show how tech can be used in positive ways to promote our discipline.
Inspired by the huge success fashion design exhibits have been enjoying in museums, The Neo Couture aims to bring the rich content and culture that is embedded in designer creations to the customers awareness in a museum like, content curated atmosphere, essentially inviting customers into the designer studios.
A web platform/template that allows fashion designers to curate their own AR experiences for their customers. Launched in retail space but later enjoyed as long as the customer owns the garment.
The project bridges the gap between craft and tech by using a hand crafted physical piece of jewelry to launch the AR experience. Both AR marker/Jewelry and AR template/gallery have customizable features in order to generate a unique experience.
After looking at works like the David Bowie Is AR app I designed and Curated a case study in collaboration with NYC based fashion designer Kobi Halperin to tell the story of the creation of his SS2020 collection. Users can explore inspirations, design process and even the music Kobi was listening to while working on the collection.
In a world saturated with polluting, unoriginal clothing, The Neo Couture will help reestablish the connection of designer – process – product in the minds of a new generation of mindful, transparency seeking customers.

Content is the new luxury in fashion.
