disPLACEment is an interactive video installation exploring and depicting how our unconscious daily actions affect events and lives elsewhere. The participant becomes the window or vehicle, via live camera video tracking, through which actions from afar are revealed, thus focusing on the body and its fragility. The participant is left to question their role in the installation as well as their relationship to the news footage shown.
As the participant(s) moves they reveal differing aspects of the footage - thereby they complete the work.

User Scenario
Screen remains blank, white, until someone enter the view and their profile shows up on the screen where video news footage of the war is playing inside of their image. As they move around the screen, they reveal and comprehend more of the event being played.

Implementation
The installation is programed in jitter using a firewire camera and projector
