Paranoia

There's nothing to fear but fear itself?

Paranoia is a public interactive scene: a cinematic moment that responds to the viewer’s presence intuitively, synchronous with real world behavior, inviting the viewer into the scene & breaking the classical fourth wall of film.

2X2,Video Sculpture

Paranoia is an interactive video sculpture installation that examines the sensations of fear and paranoia. We follow a single woman down a dark, quiet street, following behind her as she walks. As we near closer, she turns around sensing our presence. She doesn't see us and keeps walking. Should she be afraid? Is there anyone there?

User Scenario
A user approaches the piece, watches. When they get too close, the proximity sensor picks up their presence and the woman senses someone behind her, causing her to turn around.
