Social Syllabus is a platform that enables instructors to deliver course materials, conduct research and connect with colleagues in their field of study. The application hosts a number of tools aimed to enhance teaching and learning. Some of these include: live video streaming & recording, audio annotations, inline media players, course calendar, file authoring & sharing, course blog & wiki, social media search, community features and general course information.
Despite the popularization of social media tools, many courses are locked behind password protected course management systems. Faculty research and biographies often reside on static departmental web pages. Social Syllabus is looking to change this and will provide an alternative to traditional research and course delivery platforms.
