This is a kinetic sculpture I devised as an extension of my Comm Lab: Web final project. It is connected to a website where a user can submit a location, and uses the Dark Sky API to notify whether it\'s raining in that location. If it isn\'t, the site will tell you so. If at the moment it is, the site will activate a motor, shifting a container of ball bearings along a textured surface. The sound of the shifting ball bearings simulates the sound of raindrops. The object is intended to help bring the experience of rain to the user.
