The constraints of text messaging and other mobile messaging systems can be frustrating, but the same constraints can also make communicating fun. Old ideas like"brevity is the soul of wit" and "a picture is worth a thousand words" are the inspiration for Ish, a phone app for sending short messages composed of images rather than words.


Ish began as a web application, using WebRTC APIs like Socket.IO and PeerJS.


Over the past few weeks, Ish has been recreated as mobile app for Android phones. After the Android release, an iOS version will also be released.
