A physicalization of a genetic algorithm optimizing a geometry for maximized wind capture.

Description

This project seeks to provide the viewer with a serial animation demonstrating the process and potential of genetic algorithm. In the case of this piece, a geometry is being optimized to maximize the potential for wind capture. The piece explores the “space between” an initial form and an “optimized” version of that form providing the viewer with glimpses at all the interesting shapes that emerge from an evolutionary process.
